Well-capitalized edtech start-up is looking for the core team member as the Tech Lead / CTO to be responsible for the entire stack.
- Need to build the product and technology for the running operations, manage systems and maintained regularly;
- A dreamer, self-motivated, a tech architect, and a hands-on developer all rolled into one;
- Responsible for building the engineering stack that is the foundation for our products and services;
- Hiring and building out our engineering/products team, comfortable with managing and motivating people;
- Currently in the Senior level in your current jobs and thinks he/she is capable of MUCH MORE;
- A team player, an optimist with a decent amount of risk appetite;
- Eager to build an organization and create a scalable low-cost tech ecosystem;
- Organized and good at planning and just brilliant in execution;
- Willingness to take up the challenges and be a part of a successful core startup team.
Required Skills and Experience
We’re looking for a young-at heart, intense, and extremely motivated co-fighter. You should have:
- A BS / MS / Ph.D. in Computer Science or the equivalent;
- At least 7 years experience in programming;
- Experience in developing your own product, staking up your time and future on its success;
- A proactive mentality to initiate and lead technical aspects of the company; Experience in designing and building systems for consumer internet products (experience in education would be advantageous, but not necessary) – front + backend + infrastructure;
- Prior experience in server infrastructure and especially optimizing media streaming is a BIG plus;
- Experience with consumer technology startup required, scaling to series A or beyond a plus;
- Experience working in small, close-knit, fast-growing environments with extremely quick product reiteration;
- Do everything above at one-third the time most competent people think possible (I literally lifted this from Jeff Bezos but think this largely holds true for us as well);
- Sufficient language skills to work with founders & investors
- Being business savvy is a plus.
